Open Call: Small Works

The Putnam Arts Council is pleased to announce Small Works, a joyful holiday exhibition celebrating creativity on a small scale.
Artists are invited to submit works no larger than 8” x 10”. This open exhibition is a wonderful opportunity for artists to showcase and sell their work just in time for the gift-giving season – and for visitors to find that special something for the holidays. All entries will be accepted and displayed.
IMPORTANT DATES
Work drop-off: Saturday, November 22nd and Sunday, November 23rd, 2-5pm
Opening reception: Saturday, November 29th, 2-5pm
Additional gallery hours: Sunday, November 30, December 7 and December 14; and Wednesdays and Fridays, 1-5pm or by appointment
Closing event: 2-4pm on Sunday, December 14th Saturday, December 20th. Exhibiting artists are invited to share information regarding their process and inspiration for their displayed art. Open to the public. FREE
Pick up at conclusion of show: Due to Snowstorm this event rescheduled to SATURDAY, Dec. 20, 2-4pm. (3-4pm Artist Talk and 4-5pm artwork pick-up) Sunday, December 14th, 4-5pm or Wed. December 17th, or Fri. December 19th, 2-4pm

OCTOBER/NOVEMBER
Open Call: Annual Juried Fine Art Show
A. Eric Arctander Gallery at the Putnam Arts Council
October 25 – November 16, 2025
This is a juried entry show that showcases artistic talent across themes, styles and mediums, with awards recognizing creativity and craftsmanship. The event highlights the council’s commitment to showcasing local artists and fostering artistic expression within the community. Art that will be displayed in the exhibit will be selected by our juror, of selection and awards, Kathy Feighery. Not all works will be included in this exhibition.
Artists 18 years and older are invited to submit up to two pieces of original fine art for consideration by the juror; all work(s) must be original fine art, completed within the past three years and not previously exhibited at PAC.
All awards will be presented during the opening reception Saturday, October 25 at 3pm.
Kathy Feighery has been practicing art, specifically painting, for 30 years. She has participated in numerous shows in the United States and Italy as well as art fairs in NY and Miami. Her work is included in various corporate and private collections. She has adjudicated many art competitions, including NYFA grant awards, over the course of her career.

SEPTEMBER
Call to Artists: Color and Emotion
A. Eric Arctander Gallery at the Putnam Arts Council
Sept. 13 – Sept. 28, 2025
This exhibition seeks to explore how color serves as a powerful tool for expressing emotions. We are looking for interpretations that highlight the emotional impact of color through various artistic mediums. Whether through vibrant palettes or subtle hues, your work should articulate the complex interplay between color and emotion, inviting viewers to experience and reflect on their own emotional responses.
