Cultural Tourism & Economic Development

As an umbrella service organization for the arts in Putnam County, the Putnam Arts Council works to promote the work of area artists as well as the programs of our cultural affiliates, bringing visibility and awareness to the arts as an entity. Our community re-grant programs support high quality arts activities that serve our residents and attract tourists. These programs build audiences for the arts and are a key component in driving economic development; for every $1 spent on the arts $8 are raised supporting the local economy. PAC manages a Marketing-the-Arts Campaign promoting the work of area artists and arts organizations county-wide; information is disseminated to through a variety of traditional and social media in an attempt to reach the broadest audience. PAC works with area Chambers, recreation departments and government entities bringing a voice for the arts to community planning and has a close relationship with the Putnam Visitors Bureau to promote high quality arts activities to folks throughout the region.
