Summer Arts on the Hill

Summer Arts on the Hill Multi-Arts Program

Welcome! Since 1990, PAC has encouraged children from 6-13, to learn create and have fun each summer.  Small groups, professional staff and a nurturing environment will provide your child with a summer to remember. Summer Arts on the Hill Multi-Arts Program is a very popular art immersion program for children entering grades K – 6. This flexible program runs Tuesday through Thursday from 12-3:00.  Three day programs are offered from July 16 through August 22.
Instructor: Donna Mikkelsen has 25 years of experience teaching arts based curriculum in both in-school and community based settings.

While the focus is on art, the program is designed to serve all interests and the creative potential existing within all children and to make art interesting, accessible and fun.  Students will use a wide range of materials in traditional and experimental approaches, with an emphasis on shared discovery and friendly fun. We favor process over product and encourage children to listen to their unique voice when creating projects.  Weekly themes allow our teachers to introduce students to a wide range of artists, ideas, art history and art-making. Students will be engaged in collage, painting, sculpture, papier mache, and more.   Our teaching staff is comprised of highly qualified teaching artists, whose knowledge and open approach will encourage and nurture all students.  PAC is located in a renovated barn space.  All classes are taught in climate controlled art studios.  You can find us at 521 Kennicut Hill Road, Mahopac, NY  10541.
