The instructor will demonstrate techniques and processes used to create a pen and ink drawing, from choosing the subject (landscape, animal, portrait, etc.) to the sketch, to the finished product. Students will receive customized and personalized instruction and will learn to interpret the subject into black and white, as well as learning how to add color as a transformative medium to the pen and ink drawing. Advanced students as well as beginners will build skills and learn to combine techniques into a complete composition. Students should bring photos of potential subjects, two Faber-Castel XS pens and a 9” x 12” smooth Bristol surface pad.
