Ages 9 – 11
Painting with paper or collage is a wonderful way to make art. You can use pretty much any paper you can find to create a colorful pallet. It’s a wonderful way to recycle and repurpose old outgrown artwork and create something new. In this class, we will explore creating our own colorful papers using paint and a variety of unconventional tools and techniques. Making these papers is a great way to get an endless variety of colors and patterns to use, and it’s so much fun! We then will use this wonderful paper collection to create images. I will share ways to create pictures using large pieces or paper or a combination of tiny ones. You will then recreate an image of your choice using only paper. In addition, I would encourage everyone to make a flower or other creature to become a part of our Garden Mural which will hang in the art center. I must warn you, once you start collaging with paper, you may not be able to stop, the possibilities are endless.
