Open to all levels
Students will work in an open studio environment with instruction, where each person will work on their own painting at their own pace, and participate in class discussions and demonstrations in a supportive atmosphere. Class instruction will include choosing an image, lessons in observation, composition, light and contrast, color, blending, and applying paint. Participants will also receive focused lessons about the use and care of tools and materials, the variations of paint qualities, using mediums, painting styles and techniques, and putting expression and feeling into your painting. There will also be discussions of student work as it relates to the art of established artists and art history.
