Drawing is fundamental to defining representational art. Objects or scenes revealed by a light source show how subject matter such as still life, portrait or landscape appears in space. Whether drawing in tones of black and gray or painting with color, the challenge begins by perceiving how reflection of light and shadows, volume and overlapping shapes relate to create depth of perception and composition with focal point(s). Should your drawing or painting catch the eye of the observer from across the room, you have a bingo moment. You have the option of drawing and/or painting. Reference will be provided for beginners.
