Beginner to Intermediate Levels, Ages 16+
Satisfy your curiosity and experience a fun and thorough introduction to throwing on the potter’s wheel. This class is open to both the beginner and intermediate potter. Learn the skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls, plates and more. Your instructor guides you through the process of centering, throwing, shaping and trimming pots on the wheel. Basic surface decoration and glazing will also be demonstrated. As you progress, students will be encouraged to find their own creative voice using the potter’s wheel. Max 8 students

NOTE: 4 hours of free open studio time per week! is available to students enrolled in class. On Friday afternoons from 1:30-4:30, please call the office to let us know you are coming (845-803-8622). Additional studio time can be purchased at $8/hour for members and $10/hour for non-members.
A 25 lb. bag of brown or white stoneware clay costs $20 for students who need to purchase clay. Firing fees are 8 cents per cubic inch. All fees are due on the second to last class. Note: Wear an apron, bring water, and cut your nails.
