All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914: Out of the violence of World War I, a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man’s Land singing “Stille Nacht.” Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, and peace. The Putnam Arts Council and the Southeast Museum each commemorate their 60th anniversary this year. In celebration of this significant milestone, we are pleased to partner to showcase the beauty and heritage of Putnam County in collaboration with Putnam County Tourism. Both organizations took this opportunity to not only involve artists but also engage historical institutions in the pursuit of showcasing the enduring allure of Putnam County, both in its contemporary vibrancy and its cherished past.
The artworks in this exhibit all feature outdoor Putnam County scenes.
Artwork will be exhibited in the A. Eric Arctander Gallery at the Putnam Arts Council in Mahopac and at the Southeast Museum in the Village of Brewster.

An old-time string band. This is Robert Capa! An exhibition of over 50 photographs captured by famed war photographer Robert Capa (1913 – 1954). The exhibit comes to AOTL from the Capa Space, Quaker Church Rd, Yorktown, NY.
This exhibit brings to our walls the images of this world famous photographer known especially for his wartime photojournalism. Over the course of twenty years, his camera and adventurous spirit brought home the grim realities of five different wars. Capa’s photographs are recognized across the globe for their critical role in shaping public remembrance of these events. In between his wartime exploits, Capa’s frankness and likability forged friendships across the spectrum of war, art, literature, and celebrity.

The Belle Levine Art Center @ PAC
Preview: Pay Dirt – New Scenes
In a preview of this new play commissioned by the Putnam Theatre Alliance (Arts on the Lake, Tompkins Corners Cultural Center, and the Depot Theatre) the presentation at PAC will include key scenes, key characters and a plan for how the production will be realized and tour the three theaters in March 2024.
It is expected to last about an hour, but the gallery will remain open and the audience will be invited to share refreshments with the producers and the diverse cast of actors.
