Art After 75 Invitational Exhibit: Celebrating the creative efforts in original Fine Art by working artists 75 and over. On display at Putnam Hospital Center, 670 Stoneleigh Ave. Carmel, NY. Presented by the Putnam Arts Council in partnership with the Putnam Hospital Center.

Troilus and Cressida, The Taming of the Shrew, and Bomb-itty of Errors: The 3 plays will run in rotating repertory throughout the season. Boscobel grounds open 2 hours prior to show time for picnicking.

Summer Classes in the Arts for all ages: starting July 2. Adults & Teens 15+ - Watercolor, Oil or Acrylic, Pottery, Plein Air any media, Drawing and Tap Dance (in 4, 5 & 6 week segments in July and August depending on the class). The Rainmaker: by Richard Nash. Set at the time of a paralyzing drought, a girl's father and brothers are worried as much about her becoming an old maid as they are about their dying cattle. Suddenly a picturesque character claiming to be a rainmaker appears, and promises to bring rain for $100. Sunset Reading Series - Literary Reading: Jo Ann Beard is the author of a collection of autobiographical essays, The Boys of My Youth, and a forthcoming novel. Scott Spencer is the author of nine novels, including Endless Love (National Book Award Finalist 1980), Waking the Dead, A Ship Made of Paper (National Book Award Finalist 2003), and Willing. He has a new book coming out in September.

Cultural organizations interested in having their programs considered for inclusion in the Putnam Arts Council's award winning Cultural Calendar publication, and/or the Council's website should download the Cultural Calendar Submission form (IBM PC   MS Word) or (MAC   MS Word) to list their event information. Please see Calendar form for submission and deadline instructions.

The Putnam Arts Council strives to include a variety of events within its Cultural Calendar and attempts to include events and programs that happen throughout the county and the region. Cultural organizations that are members of the Putnam Arts Council will be given priority. You may submit as many listings as you wish, but a maximum of two per organization will be selected for any one calendar. Fundraising events are generally not included on the calendar.

PAC is a not-for-profit cultural service organization that supports the work of artists and promotes cultural enrichment activities for individuals throughout the region. PAC is supported, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency, and with public funds from Putnam County.
